Shall I go island hopping from Mykonos or stay in Mykonos for ten days?

Mykonos is one of the most popular destinations in Greece and an excellent choice of destination. Spending ten days in Mykonos and going on an island-hopping adventure would work very well.

Staying in Mykonos for ten days would give you a chance to see the whole island and immerse yourself in the culture. There are many sights to see fantastic beaches and plenty of attractions to visit, not to mention all the local dishes to try. Think about basing yourself near one of the best beaches in Mykonos, including Platis Gialos Beach, Ornos Beach, and Elia Beach, and go on day trips. Ten days would allow you to live a slower pace of life, having some days to relax before heading off to explore the island. There’s also plenty of nightlife if that’s something you’d like to try.

Mykonos is set in the east of the Cyclades islands, with some of the best islands in Greece less than one hour away by ferry. Ferries frequently run between the islands, especially in the high season. It’s quite possible to see Mykonos in around four days, or less if you opt for a bus tour of the island.

For a 10-day island hopping trip, I would recommend four nights in Mykonos before spending three nights on the nearby islands of Paros and Naxos. Santorini is also an excellent destination, although the island is 2-3 hours away by ferry. Santorini does have an airport, so you could consider flying back from Santorini if you wanted to see more islands. It’s best to base yourself on 2-3 islands and go on day trips if you wanted to see more islands within ten days. You could also go on a day trip to Santorini from another island with a tour company.

Is Plymouth a good road trip stop?

A road trip in Cornwall is a fantastic holiday choice. Plymouth is located just miles away from Cornwall. The city is also an excellent choice of destination, and there’s plenty to see and do, especially with kids in tow.

Plymouth is a port city with a rich military history. One of the main outdoor sights is the Barbican. Explore the hundreds of fishing boats and yachts docked, try some of the UK’s best fish and chips or find the Mayflower Steps, where the Pilgrims set off to discover America. Within walking distance of the Barbican is Plymouth Hoe, home to Smeatons Tower and stunning views out to sea towards Plymouth Sound. There’s plenty of open space here for the kids to run around too!

The National Marine Aquarium is a must-visit on a trip to Plymouth with kids. Explore the largest aquarium in the UK and spot over 4000 different species.

You should also consider where to stay in Plymouth on your trip. I recommend staying in the city centre, where there are various accommodation options to suit all budgets. For a place to stay with cooking facilities, consider staying in the Fox House Studios, at the heart of Plymouth’s shopping area and very nearby the Barbican.

If you’re on a budget, the city centre has three Premier Inn’s which all feature family rooms at reasonable prices, as well as the chance to add on breakfast. The Travelodge also has some excellent deals. The best place to stay in the city centre is the Juries Inn, which has comfy beds and an excellent breakfast.

Is it possible to go on a day trip from Caleta de Fuste to Jandia, Fuerteventura?

That’s so exciting! Autumn is one of the best times to visit Fuerteventura, and you’ve picked a great choice of hotel. It is possible to visit Jandia from Caleta de Fuste on a day trip. You’ll get to see one of Fuerteventura’s best beaches. Jandia is 97km from Caleta de Fuste, which would take you around 1 hour, 34 minutes by car. There are many options to suit all budgets and travel styles for this trip.

Many organized tours will arrange pickup from The Barcelo Fuerteventura Thalasso Spa Hotel that you can find online. Some package holiday companies also run the trip. You’ll get taken by coach straight from Caleta de Fuste to Jandia and find out some exciting facts on the way. You’ll get a set amount of time in Jandia before heading back by coach.

There’s also the option to catch the bus without a tour. Around four buses per day (number 10)  head to Costa Calma from Caleta de Fuste, where you can board an 11-minute bus down to Jandia. This route would take slightly longer than a tour bus. Expect this journey to take around 90 minutes.

If you’re planning any more day trips from Caleta de Fuste, I recommend hiring a car. This way, y can see places at your own pace and make a few scenic stops along the way. There are plenty of places to hire a car in Caleta de Fuste, or you can reserve a car for collection at the airport, which will also save you money on airport transfers.

Where is the best area to stay in Amsterdam?

So, you’ve found some great flight deals to Amsterdam, and now you’re searching for the perfect place to stay. Finding the best place to stay depends on your budget and what you’d like to do during your trip to Amsterdam.

Westerpark is known as the best area in Amsterdam for couples. You’ll be within walking distance of the city center as well as having plenty of things to do nearby. The area is home to the last windmills in Amsterdam and has plenty of shops, a huge park, and a good choice of romantic eateries.

A good hotel choice is the Conscious Hotel Westerpark which includes a delicious breakfast with stunning views across the park. A slightly more expensive option is Hotel Bost & Co, set on the stunning waterfront of Houthhaven, which features a fully equipped gym and wellness area and the opportunity to dine for lunch or dinner on the floating restaurant.

What are some of the haunted places that can be visited in Edinburgh?

You have definitely selected a good city to spend Halloween, as Edinburgh has been acclaimed to be one of the most haunted cities in the world.

One of the most haunted landmarks is the famed Edinburgh Castle, where people have admitted feeling strange sensations and hearing unwarranted knocking sounds or soft strains of music.

With a 2000-year history of tortures and battles attached to the castle, it is easy to see how the place could be haunted. Reportedly, one of the more famous ghosts at the castle is the piper. Several hundred years ago, he was sent down to investigate the tunnels.

As he walked the Royal Mile to the tunnels, he played his pipes, but the music suddenly stopped without explanation. Some say that the piper still walks the Royal Mile today.

You might also schedule a tour under the city’s South Bridge Vaults, once used to house businesses, and later a home for brothels, pubs, and the city’s poorest. Because the tunnels had not been waterproofed, it led to problems with flooding.

You can opt for a guided tour of the haunted chambers or you might book a tour where you spend the night in the spooky vaults underground.

One of the spookiest pubs in Edinburgh is the Banshee Labyrinth. Located on the subterranean South Bridge Vaults, the pub contains 7 rooms, including a cinema in 1 of the rooms. The pub allegedly is occupied by a female spirit, called a banshee. Some have reported incidents where drinks fly off tables and are thrown against walls.

What is the Ghost Festival in Beijing, China and how is it celebrated?

The Zhongyuan Festival, which is known as China’s Hungry Ghost Festival, is also called the Ullambana Festival in the Buddhist religion. This festival falls on the fifteenth day of the seventh lunar month yearly. On the Western calendar, that translates to a date in August.

During this time, it is believed that the gates of hell open, so activities are held to honor or appease the ghosts. The people offer articles on the festival day so relatives and parents can be saved from bad things in the afterlife.

Folk customs are followed during the festival. One of the main traditions involves releasing a water lantern, also called a lotus lantern, onto streams or lakes. A candle is placed inside the lotus-shaped light before it is released.

Paper money is also burned so ancestors can use it in the netherworld. Naturally, you may not want to take part in this traditional activity.

The Ghost Festival is quite a popular event among the Chinese and is not only celebrated in Beijing and on the mainland, but also in Taiwan and Hong Kong. The celebration has also spread to places, such as North Korea, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore.

A word of caution. You do not want to do certain things if you visit China or Beijing during the Ghost Festival. For example, it is taboo to step over, kick, or touch any roadside offerings.

Also never look beneath a prayer alter and do not lean against or sit on an offering table. You also do not want to sit in the front row during a street performance or stay up too late. Never stand under a bus stop or tree, and don’t get involved in water-related activities.

In addition, you should not wear clothing that is red or black and do not tap anyone on the shoulder or head.

What is the best time to visit Death Valley in California?

What you wear on a Death Valley trip will depend on the time you plan to visit the site, which is part of the U.S. National Park Service. Not only is the park the largest of all U.S. national parks, it sits at the lowest elevation, and is the driest and hottest.

The best time to see the park is usually in late October. That is when camping season starts, but it is less crowded. Temperatures range from 50 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit.

If you go in the winter, or November to February, the temperatures hover between 40 and 77 degrees Fahrenheit. Snow may also fall at higher elevations. While Death Valley is indeed dry, the most precipitation falls during the winter months. Moreover, heavy rains can prove to be hazardous. Flash floods can occur at any time.

If you go from March to early May, you will enjoy ideal weather. This is a good time to visit the pupfish darting to and fro in Death Valley’s Salt Creek. Because of the weather during this time, the park is also the most crowded.

Summer is not the best time to visit the park, as temperatures spike to 3 digits on the Fahrenheit scale. The heat can be insufferable from May to early October, with high temperatures staying constant both day and night. Park officials may close certain campgrounds frequently warn against outdoor activities during this time.

You can stay at accommodations in the area that range from budget properties to resorts. For example, motel lodgings are offered by Panamint Springs Resort (a lower priced option), Stovepipe Wells Village Hotel, and the Ranch at Death Valley. The Inn at Death Valley offers a more resort-style atmosphere, and rooms start at $225. You can also find affordable accommodations in the town of Beatty near the park at the Amargosa Hotel. If you like to camp, you can arrange camping within the park as well.

Is spring a good time to visit Naples, Italy?

You are wise in considering the time of your trip with respect to travel costs. Generally, the expenses for air, accommodations, and car rentals are lower if you book a trip from the first of January until April 1. If your spring trip falls in March, then you will pay less than you would in April or May. The absolute cheapest time to travel in Naples is in early February.

With that said, let’s look at the average cost of travel for a solo traveler visiting Naples for a week.

For 1 person, the average cost is about $960 to $2025 for the week, or around $137 to $290 per day. What vaccinations do I need to get before I go to Kenya?

You are wise to get the proper vaccinations before your trip to Kenya, as the risk for getting malaria is moderate in the country. You can also be highly susceptible to other diseases, as sanitation can be a problem in remote or undeveloped areas. Vaccinations are either required or recommended for travelers to Kenya.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) recommend that you get vaccinated for – hepatitis A and B, typhoid, cholera, yellow fever, rabies, meningitis, measles, mumps and rubella (MMR), Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis), chickenpox, shingles, and influenza.

Consult with your doctor to determine the best antimalarial to use for your trip.

Both chikungunya and dengue, spread by mosquitoes, are a threat as well. Therefore, you should use both mosquito netting and repellants while in the country.

What is it about Essaouira, Morocco that draws water sports enthusiasts?

Essaouira (Essa-we-rah) makes participating in water sports an exciting activity. Not only does the Moroccan culture provide visitors with a unique escape, the place is also a mecca for people who love to actively engage in beach-type sports.

Located on the Atlantic coast of Morocco, Essaouira is also called the “Windy City.” Therefore, that attribute is not just directed to Chicago.

The port city and resort feature a medina (old town section) that is surrounded by ramparts (constructed in the 1700s) known as the Skala de la Kasbah. Along with ocean views, you will be rewarded, if you like to kitesurf, windsurf, or surf, with the city’s strong trade winds.

Essaouira once was a working port. Now, it is a beach resort destination – one that allows you to go back to another place and time while experiencing the exhilarating waves produced by the warm and continual breezes.

The best way to visit Essaouira is to travel by bus from Marrakesh to the colorful seaside town of Essaouira. Doing so can give you the full Moroccan experience.

A 3-hour luxury coach ride can be taken via one of the main 2 tour companies – CTM or Supratours. Buses run several times a day between Marrakesh and Essaouira.
