In order to expand its network, Delta Air Lines established a number of additional flights, concentrating on Austin and Las Vegas. In each location, two new routes will be introduced by Delta beginning on 9th October.
Building Out The Domestic Network
Four new routes between Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas and Austin Bergstrom International Airport will launch on 9th October as part of Delta’s upcoming domestic growth, which will take place within the United States. Flights operated by Delta will start leaving Austin International Airport for Las Vegas and Orlando. Sacramento International Airport and San Diego International Airport will both be served by the Atlanta-based airline from Las Vegas.
Las Vegas, Nevada
Using its Embraer E175 aircraft, SkyWest will launch the LAS-SAN route for Delta on 9th October. There will be two daily flights: a morning flight and a late-afternoon trip. The 258-mile flight’s block time is set at 65 minutes.
On 9th October, SkyWest will also begin service on the Las Vegas-Sacramento route, which will be run using the E175 aircraft. Leaving from Harry Reid International Airport at 12:50, the once-daily flight will touch down in Sacramento at 14:12. The 397-mile voyage will take 82 minutes to complete. The flight back will take off from Sacramento at 15:30 and arrive in Las Vegas at 16:22.
Dallas, Texas
Airbus A320s with 157 seats will be used by Delta to fly its Austin-to-Las Vegas route as DL 1771, a mainline service. Every day at 15:00, the outbound flight from Austin will depart and land in Las Vegas at 16:09 local time. The distance and block time for DL 1771 are 1,090 miles and 189 minutes, respectively. The outbound flight will leave at 16:59 and arrive in Austin at 21:45; it will also have the same flight number. A shortened 166-minute block time is allotted for the LAS-AUS stretch.
October Adjustments
A total of 7,336 more seats will be available each month thanks to the addition of the four routes, which will expand Delta’s network by 70 flights each month. In October, Delta is also upping the number of flights on a few routes, adding a daily flight from Atlanta to Memphis, one from Minneapolis to Rochester (Minnesota), one from Detroit to Kalamazoo/Battle Creek, and one from Detroit to Lansing. Atlanta-Austin will lose one daily frequency, while Minneapolis-Austin will lose six flights per week. These are the two routes that will be cut back.
Despite all of these changes, the number of flights and seat options in Delta’s network will both be 14.1% and 9.4% higher in October 2022 than they were in October 2022, respectively. 12,397 more flights will take off in October 2018 than last.
