In keeping with tradition, Thai Airways will serve a special dessert menu on 28th July to honour the birthday of the King of Thailand. The choice is available just on this day to passengers departing on foreign flights from Bangkok.
Dessert Menu Available on Thai Airways
On Friday (July 28), Thai Airways will serve customers a specially crafted dessert buffet in honour of King Vajiralongkorn’s 71st birthday. Each cabin class is going to get a different dessert:
The Royal First includes baked egg custard with a royal project, a pumpkin pastry from Japan, Chor Tong Mook Da, and pineapple ice cream.
Pineapple served with coconut and vanilla mousse and roasted with cinnamon, according to Royal Silk (company).
cake with mango and coconut mousse on the budget.
Flights will be in high demand over the upcoming week because five out of the six days have been designated as holidays. Two Buddhist holidays fall on 1st and 2nd August along with the King’s birthday on Friday, providing Thais plenty of time off for their excursions.
What actions did THAI take previously?
The national airline of Thailand has always taken some action to commemorate the birthday of the queen. In 2019, the airline expanded the availability of exotic desserts across its local and international network, including crowd-pleasers such Thai pudding with mango. The airline gave one of its Boeing 777-300ERs the “Royal Barge” livery that year to mark the coronation of the reigning monarch, Vajiralongkorn.
A variety of curries and desserts have been served in Thailand to commemorate the birth of Sirikit, the beloved Queen Mother of Thailand. While King Bhumibol was in power, the airline also offered special dinners on his birthday in December, albeit with a more Western flair. on instance, in 2013, first class passengers were fed duck breast with foie gras, while those in business class were treated to duck sausage and truffle lasagna.
