Although Emirates is not currently flying from the UK to Dubai, the airline has introduced a new initiative to alleviate the concerns of cautious travellers during the Covid pandemic. Passengers can now purchase up to three empty adjoining seats when flying on any Emirates operated flight to provide them with additional distance from fellow passengers.
The option to block seats will only be offered at the airport counter at check in and cannot be booked in advance. Each empty seat will cost between £40 – £120. The seats will be offered to all economy class customers holding a confirmed booking.
Emirates have said the new service is being offered in response to customer feedback in response to the pandemic. The airline said that customers were seeking extra privacy and space while flying in economy class.
