Following modifications to the airline’s baggage restrictions, most Aer Lingus travelers will be unable to take a free carry-on bag weighing up to 10kg on a journey.
Customers traveling from 29th June onwards will be subject to the new luggage rules, which will apply to services throughout Europe, including the United Kingdom.
It means that passengers who want their carry-on luggage in the cabin with them must now pay €5.99/£5.99 for priority boarding.
They can still take a free 10kg bag by dropping it off at the airport check-in and having it stowed in the plane’s hold.
Some customers, such as Silver, Platinum, and Concierge AerClub members; bookings made with Plus, Advantage, and Aer Space fare types; the accompanying adult traveling with an infant; and customers connecting to/from an Aer Lingus transatlantic flight or a connecting flight with an interline partner, will receive a carry-on bag with priority boarding.
Passengers who do not purchase a carry-on bag with priority boarding or who do not have it included in their flight will be charged €35 to store it in the aircraft hold.
A small personal item, such as a handbag or laptop computer, can be brought on board for free, but it must fit under the seat in front of you.
