The new Holland America Line, Rotterdam has completed two sets of sea trials off the Italian coast.
The ship’s final steps in the construction phase will now be completed ahead of its scheduled July 30 delivery.
According to the company, the 2,668-passenger Rotterdam underwent a series of rigorous performance tests on the ship’s structures, machinery, and engines.
“The successful completion of sea trials gives us great confidence as we head into the final weeks of outfitting for Rotterdam and prepare for delivery of this historic ship.” HAL president Gus Antorcha said.
“Construction of Rotterdam has continued through the global challenges of the past year with [shipyard] Fincantieri maintaining the highest level of dedication to staying on schedule.”
