The Bulgari property Roma, the newest premium property from Bulgari Hotels & Resorts, has opened at Piazza Augusto Imperatore, 10.
The brand-new Hotel, a significant development for the Rome hotel industry, offers 114 opulent rooms and suites with casual elegance. While Gennaro Farina of the Studio Polis in Rome oversaw the design and curation of the restoration works of the building, and the decorative apparatus and was also involved in the urban planning, they were designed by the architectural studio ACPV Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel of Milan, who is responsible for the signature look of all nine Bulgari Hotels and Resorts worldwide.
The ninth and newest Bulgari resort was opened to a limited crowd last night with a variety of spectacles, including live music, dance, exquisite cuisine, and a magnificent drone display.
Celebrities who injected some celebrity glitz into the event, such as renowned actresses and Bulgari Brand ambassadors Zendaya and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, attended the preview for 600 chosen guests and wore a standout piece from the Monete collection called the Augustus Emerald Monete Sautoir. Another distinguishing feature of the Roman Jeweller, notably its unmatched mastery of priceless gemstones, is incorporated in the sautoir. A bronze Roman coin from the period between 14 and 37 A.D. is shown in an octagonal pendant made of over 600 carats worth of emerald beads. bearing Tiberius Augustus’s likeness as emperor.
In attendance were the actor’s Adele Exarchopoulos from France, Emilia Schüle from Germany, Raya Abi Rached from Lebanon, Lojain Omran from Saudi Arabia, and Alina Boz from Turkey.
Italian actors Alessandro Gassmann and Miriam Leone, as well as Cristiana Capotondi, were well-known local figures.
They were accompanied by prominent members of the worldwide press as well as prominent Italian dignitaries and celebrities from Rome.
The festivities got underway with a ribbon-cutting ceremony presided over by Bulgari Group CEO Jean-Christophe Babin in front of an antique 1 B.C. At the hotel entrance, a statue of a seated Augustus draped in a cloak and shown with the classic qualities of Jupiter greets visitors. A Roman sculpture from the Villa Mattei al Clelio is shown every five years in the Vestibolo area among five other pieces from the Torlonia Collections that the Torlonia Foundation recently studied and restored with the help of Bulgari.
Roberto Gualtieri, the mayor of Rome, accompanied him together with Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Zendaya, Executive Vice President Silvio Ursini of the Bulgari Group, General Manager Vincenzo Falcone of the Bulgari Hotel Roma, and Rome Council Member Alessandro Onorato.
Visitors were mesmerised by live music performances, an exhibition of vintage Bulgari pieces, including a platinum necklace with emeralds and diamonds that dates back to 1962 and once belonged to Elizabeth Taylor, and a star-studded red carpet while on a discovery journey of the hotel in various locations.
The Shakes, a live party band, provided the bottom floor’s evening entertainment. Chef Niko Romito created a special menu of small snacks, which included the Vitello Tonnato, Pappa al Pomodoro, and Tortelli with scampi and tarragon.
Visitors also got private tours of a number of the hotel’s prominent locations, including as the lavish 300 sq m Bulgari Suite, the exquisite Spa, the renowned Bulgari Bar and La Terrazza, which offers panoramic city views from its seventh level.
As dusk fell, the festivities were moved to the fifth floor, where Italian musician and composer Saturnino kept the party going on the outdoor terrace of Il Ristorante – Niko Romito, which had been exquisitely decorated for the event. Guests were able to take in the breathtaking views of the Mausoleum of Augustus in front of the hotel building.
Roman and Bulgari Legacy were at the centre of the celebration, which featured a magnificent show with 200 drones and a long-distance light performance that was visible from every area of the hotel. This insured that Bulgari would leave an enduring mark on the Rome sky that would be seen for miles around.
Following the performance, singer Alessandro Ristori, one of Italy’s top interpreters of music from the 1960s and 1970s, brought the best songs in his catalogue to the stage, including well-known worldwide hits and iconic Italian hits like “Come prima più di Prima” and “Pensiero Stupendo.”
