EasyJet has committed to a long-term effort to promote Morocco as a tourist destination and double its capacity by 2028.
EasyJet Holidays, the budget airline’s in-flight tour provider, has committed to spending money on tourist growth over the next four years. In order to expand starting this summer, the EasyJet company is working with the Moroccan National Tourism Office (MNTO).
This will involve marketing by easyJet Vacations both online and offline, sponsorship for the campaign from the MNTO, and permission to utilize its promotional materials.
The heads of EasyJet Vacations and Moroccan tourism will have regular meetings to assess, discuss, and review their ongoing collaboration.
Adel El Fakir, the chief executive of MNTO, said: “This agreement with easyJet is historic for Morocco.
“The airline has real expertise in the European market, our main tourist source. EasyJet will thus be able to serve Morocco through additional direct routes with a doubling of seat capacity by 2028.
“This reinforces our offensive strategy on our target markets. What’s more, the growth of easyJet holidays is a fantastic opportunity for customers in the UK to experience dedicated package holidays to Morocco.”
The airline’s chief executive Johan Lundgren said: “EasyJet has doubled the number of services it operates to Morocco as its popularity continues to grow with our customers.
“We remain committed to our ongoing cooperation with the Moroccan National Tourism Office and look forward to working together now and in the coming years to promote Morocco and all it has to offer.”
EasyJet holidays chief executive Garry Wilson, easyJet holidays CEO, said: “Morocco is a fantastic destination which our customers love and we’re proud to have in our portfolio, so I’m very happy to be supporting its tourism growth for the future.”
