Cunard is replacing a cancelled Queen Mary 2 transatlantic crossing with a new coronation-inspired UK sailing that costs under £200. The Coronation Celebration voyage, lasting five nights, is available for booking from Thursday (27th April). The ship will sail round-trip from Southampton from 2nd May, with a stop in Liverpool. The prices for the Britannia Inside stateroom start at £199. Cunard had to cancel a transatlantic voyage on Queen Mary 2 on Sunday (23rd April) due to a technical problem.
On Saturday (6th May), passengers can witness the Coronation ceremony live from Westminster Abbey, followed by a series of events celebrating the occasion, including a special dinner based on King Charles’ preferred ingredients.
Cunard acting senior vice-president Angus Struthers said: “We wanted to provide an opportunity for our guests to enjoy an unforgettable, very special and unique celebration of the coronation.
“We also hope that some guests who were impacted by our disruption last week will be able to join us onboard.”
