UK travellers will be exclusively offered the opportunity to travel with Princess Cruises on a series of short cruises this summer. The cruises which will depart from Southampton will be operated on Regal Princess and Sky Princess. Some of the cruises will last as long as seven days.
The UK departures will go on sale later this month and will only be available to book by UK residents. Dates, prices and itineraries will also be published by the cruise line later this month. The announcement was made shortly after sister company P&O, which is also owned by Carnival, released similar plans designed exclusively from the British market.
All other sailings on Island Princess, Regal Princess and Sky Princess have been cancelled until September 25, 2021 to accommodate the changes.
Tony Roberts, the line’s vice president, said “Recent announcements from the UK government on the roadmap to the end of lockdown has given us all optimism that we will be able to have a summer break.
“When restrictions are lifted, it is clear that holidays in the UK will be the first to restart before the gradual return of international travel.
“We are eager to welcome our guests back onboard as soon as it is safe to do so. By offering a series of short UK breaks, we can provide guests with a relaxed holiday at sea so they can enjoy a much-needed getaway.”
“We look forward to welcoming our guests back onboard to create summertime memories in a safe and relaxed environment.”
