As part of a planned plan to reopen foreign tourism, the Cayman Islands will relax quarantine restrictions for fully vaccinated visitors in October.
A five-phase strategy to assure a successful outcome “safe and healthy experience” The Cayman Islands government, in collaboration with health authorities, the public, and private sectors, has issued guidelines for visitors.
From 14th October, all vaccinated travelers will be exempt from quarantine procedures in the fourth stage. Visitors who have not been vaccinated will be subject to quarantine for 14 days upon the arrival.
While cruise tourism is still restricted, children under the age of 12 who have not been vaccinated will be able to travel with vaccinated adults beginning 18th November.
From the autumn, British Airways will operate up to four direct flights each week from Heathrow to Grand Cayman.
From 27th January 2022, the British Overseas Territory in the western Caribbean plans to reopen to all travelers.
The location was one of 27 countries put on the UK’s green watchlist for foreign travel last month as part of the government’s traffic light system, but several do not now allow British visitors. On Thursday, the next inspection is scheduled (15th July).
According to the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism, “By following a controlled reopening program to maintain its best in class Covid-safe experience and protocols, the destination is committed to ensuring the ongoing safety, security and peace of mind of visitors and the local population
“At all phases, public health officials will monitor the prevalence rate and spread of Covid-19. “Transition between stages will be determined by a myriad of factors.
“At all phases, all inbound travellers are required to make a declaration of travel and vaccination status on Travel Cayman Portal, and present the declaration certificate, vaccination documents, and provide proof of medical insurance which includes coverage for Covid-19 upon arrival.”
