For the first time in nearly a decade, Carnival Cruise Line has resumed ex-UK sailings from Dover.
The Carnival Pride’s inaugural voyage marks the start of a summer season that will include nine cruises from the port.
The last voyage from Dover was in 2013.
The 2,680-passenger ship set out on a nine-day voyage to the Norwegian fjords on Friday.
Carnival Pride will depart from Dover eight more times this summer, with itineraries ranging from nine to twelve days, including round-the-world voyages.
This summer, Carnival Pride will also sail in the Mediterranean from Civitavecchia, Rome’s port.
Sonia Limbrick, cruise director at the Port of Dover, stated: “We are immensely proud to be welcoming Carnival Cruise Line back to Dover and honoured to be part of Carnival’s 50th birthday celebration with the kick-off of nine fantastic turnaround calls.”
