Austria is the latest country to lift all remaining Covid-19 travel restrictions.
Travelers no longer need to produce proof of vaccination against Covid-19, proof of recovery from infection, or evidence of a recent negative Covid test upon entrance as of Monday (16th May).
The new restrictions will apply to all foreign visitors, who will be admitted regardless of their immunization status.
Previously, fully vaccinated travelers were required to show proof of their vaccinations or proof of recovery from a recent Covid illness.
They could also enter if they have a negative PCR test for Covid-19 within 72 hours of travel, or a negative LFT or antigen test within 24 hours of flight.
Austria’s stance is consistent with those of many of its EU neighbors, with a number of member states lowering Covid entrance restrictions in recent weeks. Spain, on the other hand, stated on Monday that its tariffs would remain in effect for another month, until June 15th.
The EU has also modified its requirements on wearing face masks in flight, however member countries are free to set their own laws and override EU recommendations.
