Play, an Icelandic airline, has begun operating its first-ever flights to and from Scotland, allowing for new Reykjavik-to-US and Canada connections.
On Friday, 26th May, at 11:55 a.m., Play’s first trip to Scotland, which was headed for Keflavik, left Glasgow Airport. This flight will give Scottish tourists a low-cost choice for travelling to North America.
As of summer 2023, there will be up to four flights per week to Iceland, with up to two flights per week in the winter. Return tickets to Iceland start at £87 per person.
Chief Executive Officer of Play, Birgir Jonsson, stated that “Iceland is a nation of music lovers, so this new route to Glasgow will be music to the ears of our many passengers wishing for an affordable route to see their favourite bands in Glasgow.”
Airports in Liverpool and Stansted also host Play.
