After a two-and-a-half-year hiatus, Aer Lingus will resume direct flights to Miami as of 21st October.
The airline will first operate two weekly trips before beginning an additional flight on 31st October. The starting price for a round-trip ticket, which includes taxes and fees, is £219 each way.
Customers from eight UK airports, including Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Bristol, and Leeds Bradford, can use the Miami route by connecting through Dublin.
Customers can “skip lengthy immigration waits” in the US by using US Immigration pre-clearing, which is accessible at Aer Lingus’ Dublin hub, according to the airline.
Aer Lingus’ chief customer officer, Susanne Carberry, stated: “As the only carrier to operate direct flights to Miami from Ireland, we also cater to the UK and European markets given the seamless connections we offer travellers transiting via Dublin.
“Restarting our Miami service is further proof of our ambition to continue to grow our North American network.”
Following Aer Lingus’ announcement that it would restore service to Cleveland, Ohio, and Hartford, Connecticut, next summer, the news was released.
In addition to New York, Chicago, Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Orlando, Washington, Seattle, and Philadelphia, Aer Lingus offers 16 direct services between Ireland and North America.
